is a leading medical university in Tbilisi, Georgia.[1] More than 85 years have passed since Tbilisi State Medical Institute was founded on the basis of the faculty of Medicine at Tbilisi State University (TSU). In 1992 Tbilisi State Medical Institute was renamed in Medical University. On June 10, 1930, the Tbilisi University was reorganized and founded by the Tbilisi State Medical Institute, which became the new strongest incentive for higher medical education and medical science development in Georgia. During the establishment, the Institute had three faculties: medicinal-prophylactic (dental department), sanitary-prophylactic and pharmacologic-chemical. The medical faculty has been established at the time of almost 100-year history of the medical institute and has been established at various times: Pediatric (1931), Dental (since 1936), military-medicine (since 1993), medical biological (since 1994), psychosomatic Medicine and Psychotherapy (since 1996). Currently, there are five faculties in the medical university: medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, public health, physical medicine and rehabilitation. Analysis of revolutionary, worldview and political changes in the objective, in some cases, in the country and society at the beginning of the nineties of the last century, made it clear that the institution needed to establish greater space for future tasks; Newly-acquired autonomy must be incorporated into the new university structure, which means that the medical institution should be transformed into university, for which the existence of the foreseeable existence of the Institute has already existed. The initiative of this objective, argumentative initiative was the medical university itself. November 24, 1992 is a historic day for higher medical education in Georgia, started its new stage – Tbilisi State Medical Institute was transformed into Tbilisi State Medical University. The medical university immediately came to the forefront of the overcoming of the XXI Century Challenge of Medical Education Reform. In 1997, at Tbilisi State Medical University, the strategy of realization of result-oriented learning methodology was developed. He was based on recommendations from European experts. Medical University has already been a member of the European Medical Education Association (AMEE), a member of the World Federation of Medical Education (WFME). It is not only implementing their directive or recommendation normative acts but also participates in the elaboration and systematization of recommendations. According to the latter, competitive international medical education includes three basic principles: clinical thinking, information management and communication skills; The need for realization of the new law already enacted in the higher education system of Georgia by 2006, the passion of the advantages of world education and the European experience of medical education, the necessity of fulfillment of international obligations of medical education reform and the medical university and academic medical society I found the need for change. The three-stage system of higher education (bachelor’s, master’s, doctoral degree) started to coordinate with the post-diploma education process.
